In short of a year ContiTrade Africa, Continental AG’s African trade organisation has successfully entrenched its position in South Africa and will end 2013 with over 20 tyre fitment centres nationally.   This number is double ContiTrade Africa’s initial plan and consists of both company owned and franchise tyre fitment centres. “We have been strengthening our tyre distribution network throughout South Africa and we are pleased with the overwhelming response from interested business owners who wish to align themselves with the backing of a manufacturer with credentials such as Continental Tyres SA,” said Rolf Lensch, Managing Director of ContiTrade Africa.

The ContiTrade Africa network comprises company owned and franchise businesses operating as independent units in their respective communities.  In September 2013, ContiTrade finalised a transaction with Jody’s tyre fitment group in Johannesburg acquiring eight tyre fitment centres. They are located in the Northern suburbs of Johannesburg, stretching from Braam Fischer Drive in Randburg through to Constantia Kloof, Roodepoort. Of the eight stores three will be converted into FIT&GO and four into BestDrive with one fitment centre trading as, Jody’s Tyres. This acquisition designed to empower ContiTrade with retail knowledge and expertise not only expands the service network but enables the company to be close to customers and retail partners.

ContiTrade’s Tyre fitment centre network is by no means restricted to Continental tyre brands and each tyre fitment centre offers a wide-range of the world’s best tyre brands and automotive components at affordable prices from all leading tyre manufacturers. With targeted expansion into new markets ContiTrade Africa will steadily strengthen its Tyre distribution network throughout Africa in the years to come.
